Nuss has a M.A. in community psychology and social change focused on public education. She conducts program evaluation and promotes organizational improvement strategies especially for maximizing student outcomes in SEL competence and well-being. In all her work, implementation of SEL is the core strategy with the purpose of accelerating proactive and positive SEL outcomes for all students. Nuss has provided SEL implementation support in the school districts of Sacramento, Austin, El Paso, Tampa and Cleveland while helping to promote district-wide SEL.
In order to better prepare and support teachers and administrators to effectively model SEL skills, to facilitate high-quality SEL instruction and reinforcement, and to meaningfully integrate SEL throughout the academic curriculum and throughout the school day, Nuss is currently more focused on SEL for teachers, principals and other educators. She designs and facilitates adult learning experiences. Mindfulness in education is often a component of these sessions. She also provides technical assistance consultation for school and districts.
