Marnie Aylesworth has worked in the field of early childhood education for more than 25 years. She holds a master’s degree in early childhood education and a D.Ed. in curriculum and instruction.
Aylesworth has worked with the Pennsylvania Key for more than eight years working to support early childhood programs and the early childhood workforce and is currently the executive director of the organization. Prior to coming to the Key, she worked as the education coordinator for WITF, Inc., a TA consultant for Capital Area Early Childhood Training Institute, and as a center director for a large Child Care program in Central Pennsylvania.
In her research, Aylesworth was focused on the impact mindfulness can have on early childhood educator’s health and well-being as well as on their ability to successfully work and teach in a prekindergarten classroom, specifically in communities where poverty is prevalent. She is dedicated to a collective leadership philosophy and has successfully incorporated mindfulness into her leadership approach at the Pennsylvania Key.
